About The Position

The Certified Rehabilitative Counselor (CRC) for the Career Access Program will play a key role in supporting individuals with disabilities by providing vocational rehabilitation and workforce development services. The CRC will assess clients' abilities, interests, and needs, then develop and implement Individualized Career Plans (ICP) tailored to each client's goals. Additionally, this position will involve supervising and mentoring the Economic Empowerment Specialist, ensuring seamless coordination of services to help clients achieve economic independence and employment success. Career Access program is a community outreach initiative designed to offer vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Vocational Rehabilitation, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities in a vocational rehabilitation, career counseling, or workforce development setting.
  • Certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) from the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) is required.
  • Strong understanding of disability services, vocational rehabilitation practices, and workforce development strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, employers, and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop individualized career plans and provide targeted counseling and guidance.
  • Knowledge of local employment resources, job training programs, and accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, and cultures and their history and origins.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in supervising or mentoring staff, particularly in disability services or workforce development, is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the abilities, interests, and challenges of individuals with disabilities.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Career Plans (ICP) based on assessments, incorporating the client’s preferences, skills, and career goals.
  • Regularly review and update ICPs to ensure alignment with the client’s evolving needs, goals, and progress.
  • Collects information about clients through interviews, observations, and tests. Prepares and maintains treatment records and reports.
  • Oversee the work and mentor the Economic Empowerment Specialist to ensure the effective delivery of services and ensure they are adequately supporting clients in achieving financial independence and stability.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure comprehensive service delivery for clients.
  • Participate in outreach activities to raise awareness of the Career Access Program and recruit eligible participants.
  • Ensure that the EES team maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Prepare reports on client progress, program outcomes, and service delivery to inform program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.
