Rehabilitation Veterinary Assistant

W e are looking for: Rehabilitation Veterinary Assistant The Rehabilitation department focuses on helping our patients be come mobile utilizing physical therapy, water therapy, cold laser therapy and more. This team is perfect for someone who enjoys working with a patient for extended amounts of time, as well as partnering with our clients on continued education to help their pet get better.
Requirements
- Prior veterinary experience
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
- Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice To Haves
- previous rehabilitation experience desired
Responsibilities
- Prioritize caseload and patient care, prepare and review charts for appropriate paperwork , as well as e nsure accurate documentation
- Restrain and assist with examinations and therapies
- Prepare prescriptions, harnesses and needed information for clients
- Discuss therapies and recommendations, as well as address client questions and concerns
- Coordinate interdepartmental communication, services, patient transfers and consults
- Perform and/ or assist with patient therapies using multiple modalities including underwater treadmill, laser therapy, chiropractic adjustments, ultrasound, Assisi loop and land therapies
