About The Position

The Rehabilitation Therapist is responsible for developing and supervising specialized programs that target individualized treatment goals. Duties include planning, organizing, developing, maintaining, promoting, operating and managing therapeutic recreation art, music, and movement programming. Provide supervision and guidance to Youth Mentors with therapeutic recreation Develop specialized programs that target youth’s specific treatment goals Reinforce and role model youth’s individual treatment plan Ensure physical safety of youth and provide Crisis Intervention as needed Maintain a professional relationship with youth maintaining proper physical boundaries Plan and lead organized activities including art, music and movement Coordinate activities with Youth Mentors and assure that they are adhering to scheduled planned activities Engage contracted providers and or volunteers to assist with activities as necessary Provide transportation to clients and families as needed Focus on Client Needs: Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of internal and external clients to meet or exceed their expectations within program parameters Ability to communicate, cooperate and serve people from all cultural identities with respect, professionalism, integrity and fairness in a manner that recognizes the individuality of each person Foster Teamwork: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance program effectiveness. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and experience in training in therapeutic recreation preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work with youth experiencing mental or emotional challenges
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
