(1) year experience with seriously emotionally disturbed adolescents in an inpatient or outpatient health care setting required (student internship and/or practicum time may be substituted). California Certification as Recreation Therapist Certified (RTC) or National Certification as Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or California OT License (OTR/L) required. How you will make a difference: Coordinate and provide direct and indirect rehabilitation treatment to adolescent clients. Conduct a written rehabilitation assessment of new clients utilizing verbal, written, auditory and visual communication. Develop an individualized schedule of therapeutic groups with and for each client. Lead or co-lead therapeutic groups with treatment team staff Assist clients in determining and taking the steps necessary to achieve the treatment goals and self-directed recovery. Document and report progress of client outcomes in therapeutic programs including group activities and individualized goal planning. Provide work direction to Rehab Aides, as needed Establishes and maintains a therapeutic milieu by developing the recreational activities to enhance client success on the unit. Develops, implements, and supervises the recreation/activities program that includes the following but is not limited to: social activities, indoor and outdoor activities, exercise activities, opportunities for client involvement for planning and implementation of the recreation activities. Notifies the treatment team of recommendations and plans for implementation regarding recreation/activities Document and report progress of client outcomes in therapeutic programs including group activities and individualized goal planning. Actively participate in Treatment Team meetings and assist in the development of a written Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan for each client. Coordinate therapeutic program evaluations and identify improvement in therapeutic programs. . Assist with maintaining inventory and equipment by visually inspecting equipment and supply levels. Requirements
