The Rehabilitation Technician provides vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities in achieving employment outcomes. Responsibilities include assisting with specific administrative and rehabilitation duties to one or more vocational rehabilitation professionals, conducting intake interviews, counseling consumers on job and career development goals, providing job search and case management assistance, coordinating services with local businesses, and collaborating with network workforce partners in local communities. Requirements

  • Knowledge of disability rights, culture, history, and working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography, and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Ability to interpret and use medical and psychological information to make sound decisions.
  • Ability to be proactive, organized, and manage caseloads.
  • Ability to be sensitive, respectful, and communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and languages.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; public speaking skills.
  • Meet minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human services field including but not limited to Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Behavioral Sciences, and Education including Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education.
  • One year of experience in career counseling, social work, or human services.
  • Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
