About The Position

The Rehabilitation Technician position at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL is a per diem/PRN role primarily focused on weekend shifts, requiring a minimum of 2 weekends per month from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, along with 2 holidays per year. The role involves cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas, preparing equipment for patient use, maintaining inventory, transporting patients, and performing general clerical duties. Additionally, the technician assists in wound care and dressing applications in hydrotherapy.

Requirements

  • Requires a high-school level of communication and/or math skills.
  • No technical training prior to hire and less than three months of previous experience.
  • Approximately one to three months of on-the-job experience.
  • Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross required.
  • Some analytical ability is required, generally limited to collecting factual information and responding based on clear precedent or procedures.

  • Ability to walk or stand for an hour or more at a time.
  • Ability to lift or carry objects weighing more than 20 pounds.
  • Ability to push or pull laundry or supply carts, gurneys, or wheelchairs.
  • Ability to lift and position patients.
  • Knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and disinfects assigned areas according to prescribed procedures.
  • Assists in preparing equipment for patients' use.
  • Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies and equipment, replenishing as needed.
  • Transports patients to and from department as needed.
  • Performs general clerical duties such as answering phones and relaying messages.
  • Assists in wound care and dressing applications and changes in hydrotherapy.
