About The Position

The Rehabilitation Technician position is a per diem role located at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. The position primarily involves weekend shifts, requiring a minimum of 2 weekends per month from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, along with 2 holidays per year. The technician will work under close supervision to clean and disinfect assigned areas, assist in preparing equipment for patient use, maintain inventory of supplies, transport patients, and perform general clerical duties. Additional responsibilities include assisting in wound care and dressing applications.

Requirements

• Requires a high-school level of communication and/or math skills.
• No technical training prior to hire required.
• Less than three months of previous experience plus approximately one to three months of on-the-job experience.
• Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross required.
• Some analytical ability is required for basic problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to walk or stand for an hour or more at a time.
• Ability to lift or carry objects weighing more than 20 pounds.
• Ability to push or pull laundry or supply carts, gurneys, or wheelchairs.
• Ability to lift and position patients.
• Knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects assigned areas according to prescribed procedures.
• Assists in preparing equipment for patients' use.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Replenishes supplies as needed.
• Transports patients to and from department as needed.
• Performs general clerical duties such as answering phones and taking messages.
• Assists in wound care and dressing applications.
