About The Position

The Rehabilitation Technician position at Burr Ridge focuses on providing support in physical and occupational therapy settings. This part-time role requires 20 hours of work per week, with availability needed for two evenings until 7:00 PM. The technician will be expected to travel to other sites as needed for coverage. The position emphasizes patient care, clinic flow management, and front-end administrative tasks under the supervision of the Clinic Director.

Requirements

  • CPR certification required (certification offered through Duly Health and Care).
  • High School Diploma.
  • Knowledge of common medical terminology and abbreviations.
  • Understanding of principles, contraindications, and precautions in the use of therapy modalities.
  • Ability to identify proper patient setup on each piece of equipment and adjust as necessary.
  • Ability to identify planes of movement and demonstrate proper exercise positioning.
  • Team-oriented with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong problem-solving, lateral thinking, and reasoning skills.
  • Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care, support, and guidance.
  • Execute plans of care under the guidance of PT/OT providers.
  • Properly set up and adjust exercise equipment.
  • Assist with the setup and delivery of modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and hot/cold packs.
  • Utilize educational techniques including demonstration and cueing to ensure patient understanding of exercises.
  • Monitor patient safety and response to exercise intensity.
  • Discuss patient performance with PT/OT provider.
  • Monitor patient arrivals to the department.
  • Start patients on time for scheduled appointments and keep them informed of any clinician delays.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the clinic, including waiting areas, exam rooms, and all equipment.
  • Order supplies to keep the clinic stocked under the direction of the Manager.
  • Perform front-end tasks including check-in, co-pay collection, answering phones, and scheduling future appointments.
  • Communicate with the PT/OT and Chiropractic referral team regarding patient insurance benefits.
  • Manage clinician schedules, including patient confirmation calls and rescheduling as needed.
