About The Position

The Rehabilitation Technician position in Burr Ridge focuses on providing support in physical and occupational therapy settings. This part-time role requires 20 hours of work per week, with availability needed for two evenings until 7:00 PM. The technician will be expected to travel to other sites as needed for coverage. The position emphasizes patient care, executing plans of care under the guidance of PT/OT providers, and maintaining clinic operations.

Requirements

• CPR certification required (certification offered through Duly Health and Care).
• High School Diploma.
• Knowledge of common medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Understand principles, as well as contraindications/precautions in the use of therapy modalities.
• Can identify proper patient set-up on each piece of equipment with the ability to adjust.
• Identify planes of movement and demonstrate proper exercise positioning.
• Team-oriented.
• Attention to detail and follow-through.
• Problem solving, lateral thinking and reasoning skills.
• Communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Patient care, support, and guidance.
• Execute plans of care under guidance of PT/OT providers.
• Proper set up and adjustment of exercise equipment.
• Assist with set up and delivery of modalities (e.g., electrical stimulation, ultrasound, hot/cold packs, etc.).
• Utilize appropriate educational techniques including demonstration and cueing to ensure patient understanding of exercises.
• Monitor patient safety and response to exercise intensity.
• Discuss patient performance with PT/OT provider.
• Monitor patient arrivals to department.
• Start patients on time for scheduled appointments/keep patients apprised of any clinician delays.
• Maintain cleanliness of clinic, including waiting areas, exam rooms, and all equipment.
• Order all supplies to keep clinic stocked, under direction from Manager.
• Perform necessary front-end tasks including but not limited to check-in, co-pay/financial responsibility collection, answering phones, and scheduling future appointments.
• Communicate via chat with PT/OT and Chiropractic referral team regarding patient insurance benefits.
• Schedule management for clinicians (i.e., patient confirmation calls, rescheduling patients as needed).
