About The Position

The Rehabilitation Support Technician is responsible for clerical duties within the rehabilitation department to support smooth and organized office operations. This includes answering phones, patient check-in, ordering/maintaining office supplies, record keeping, and data entry/maintenance. The individual will also assist the rehab staff in preparing patients and/or the environment of care for therapy sessions. Under the supervision of a licensed therapist, this role assists in safe patient handling. Additionally, the technician is expected to help maintain departmental cleanliness, therapeutic supply inventory, and perform other duties as assigned by licensed therapy staff and/or management. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Less than 1 year experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Strong word processing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

  • Previous healthcare-related experience/training preferred
  • Meets priorities and handles multiple tasks
  • Utilizes good judgment in planning work and acting within the limits of standard practice
  • Data entry and maintenance skills (Excel)

Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical duties within the rehabilitation department
  • Answer phones
  • Perform patient check-in
  • Order and maintain office supplies
  • Perform record keeping
  • Perform data entry and maintenance
  • Assist the rehab staff in preparation of patients and/or the environment of care for therapy sessions
  • Assist in safe patient handling under the supervision of a licensed therapist
  • Help maintain departmental cleanliness
  • Help maintain therapeutic supply inventory
  • Assist in transfers and stand by assistance of a licensed therapist during skilled interventions
  • Assist Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, and/or Exercise Physiologists by retrieving needed equipment, setting up the environment of care prior to treatments, cleaning equipment, and maintaining department supplies
  • Transport patients to and from department or room via wheelchair or stretcher
  • Perform regular sweeps of all patient areas to locate ambulatory assistive devices and returns them to their proper location
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the licensed therapy staff and/or next level manager
