About The Position

The Rehabilitative Services Inpatient Department at Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Summer Intern to assist therapists with the provision of care to patients on their caseload. Includes administrative and clerical functions as well as assisting with patient care. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Function as a rehab aide Work alongside Rehabilitation Aides, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Speech- Language Pathologists

Requirements

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in a full-time accredited public or private College/University
  • Be in good academic standing
  • US Citizen or permanent resident
  • Work 37.5 hours per week and commit to a minimum of 375 hours for the duration of the internship
  • Must be committed to completing the duration of the internship from June 2026 - August 2026
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Team-oriented
  • Highly motivated
  • This position requires safe patient handling. Must be able to provide patients with needed support during transitions, transfers, ambulation, stairs and other activities. In the event of an unanticipated situation, must be able to safely lower the patient to the floor. May involve pushing/pulling and/or carrying rehabilitation equipment and supplies

  • Preferred students currently pursuing physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, or a similarly related field
