About The Position

The Clinical Nurse at UC Davis Health is responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to a diverse patient population in a rehabilitation hospital setting. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care while promoting compliance with policies and regulations. The nurse will work autonomously, utilizing their professional expertise to deliver high-quality care and support to patients and their families, while also serving as a resource for other nursing team members.

Requirements

• Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR certification.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• At least six (6) months of recent inpatient rehabilitation experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Knowledge of current trends in nursing and legal implications in clinical practice.
• Effective interpersonal skills and commitment to excellence in patient care.
• Basic computer skills and ability to utilize medical terminology appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Provide total, comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care.
• Assess, document, plan, implement, teach, develop, and evaluate a comprehensive nursing plan of care.
• Deliver direct patient care and ensure patient satisfaction.
• Train and delegate duties to other nursing staff as assigned.
• Communicate changes in patient's clinical condition with physicians and nursing supervisors.
• Participate in discharge planning processes.
• Demonstrate leadership skills and accountability for nursing practices.
