About The Position

We are seeking a Rehabilitation CNA, also referred to as a Rehab Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Rehab CNA. The Rehab CNA work with patients in the recovery process who are undergoing rehabilitation after surgery, injury, or illness. The Rehab CNA work closely with other healthcare professionals and provide hands-on support to help patients regain their strength, mobility, and independence. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed. Shifts Available: Day or Night Options Employment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN) Hours: 7:00am to 7:00am or 7:00pm to 7:00am Location: St. Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare: Competitive compensation Medical insurance benefit plan 401K Sick leave accrual Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding while promoting dignity and independence Support mobility and rehabilitation exercises under therapist guidance to improve strength, balance, and coordination safely Monitor and promptly report changes in patients’ physical and emotional conditions to nursing staff for timely intervention Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment by organizing patient areas and removing hazards to prevent injury and infection Assist with positioning and transferring patients using safe techniques to prevent pressure ulcers and promote circulation Encourage and motivate patients to actively participate in their rehabilitation programs by providing emotional support and positive reinforcement

Requirements

  • A current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required.
  • Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current
  • Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintained
  • Possesses knowledge of medical terminology

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred
