About The Position

The Rehabilitation Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides critical support to patients during their rehabilitation process under the direction of nursing and therapy staff. The CNA plays an instrumental role in fostering patient recovery, promoting safety and independence, and ensuring a compassionate care environment. This Certified Nursing Assistant involves direct patient care, assisting patients with daily living activities, and contributing to the patient's rehabilitation goals.

Requirements

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required.
  • Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Possesses knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred.
  • Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Help patients with basic needs (bathing, dressing, and toileting) and reposition and transfer patients as needed.
  • Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration); assist with wound care and dressing changes under supervision.
  • Prepare rooms and ensure medical supplies are stocked, and transport patients within the hospital (to imaging or other departments).
  • Assist with procedures (e.g., setting up equipment, applying splints), and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic life support if certified.
  • Record patient information and observations, report changes in patient condition to nurses or doctors, and provide emotional support to patients and families.
  • Clean and sanitize patient areas and equipment, and follow hospital protocols to prevent infection spread.
