ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Communicating with patients and scheduling patient appointments as well as confirming future appointments and phone confirmation of next day evals. Communicate visit cost to patients and explain as needed patient benefits. Collect patient payments and pull visit totals and batch collections at end of the day. Communicating with rehabilitation staff and therapist as needed to clarify referral requests and scheduling needs. Collect and verify patient demographics and insurance information and pull in-take packets for following day. Scan documents into EMR as needed. Assists Rehabilitation Front Office Supervisor in special projects. Answer incoming Rehabilitation Department phone calls and check faxes. Assist in maintaining goals for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, and treatment compliance through service to patient needs and request in the capacity of the position. Manage patient cancelations per department protocol including scheduling from wait list. Assist in creating new patient charts. Confirm DME proof of delivery and ABN documents. Schedule progress notes due. Maintains patient confidentiality. The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for job position.
