Key Position Details: FTE 0.60 (48 hours per two week pay period) 8-hour day shift (Sun-Tues) Sunday shift is 6:30a-3:00p, Monday and Tuesday will typically be 8:00a-4:30p Alternate Weekend Plan Holiday rotations Job Description: Provides quality care under the supervision of a therapist. Supports departmental functions including equipment maintenance, cleaning and assisting the front desk.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
  • Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below: ◦ Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association ◦ Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross ◦ Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

  • 0 to 2 years in a health care setting

Responsibilities

  • Assist therapists.
  • Provide hands on assistance as directed by therapy provider in therapy sessions.
  • Provides safe patient equipment, ensures personal safety, and safe work environment.
  • Recognize emergency medical situations, symptoms, and take appropriate actions.
  • Uses equipment and proper body mechanics to reduce injury to self and patients.
  • Uses communication techniques that reflect attention to age, cultural and population specific needs of the patient and family.
  • Support department functions.
  • Thoroughly documents relevant cleaning, maintenance, O2 tank status, and crash cart checks.
  • Activities may include patient transport to and from department, transfers, escorting patient to treatment room or gym when appropriate, supervise patients on equipment, and perform modality set-up based on training.
  • Complete equipment cleaning, stocking, and ordering as appropriate.
  • Participates in program development, professional practice, and quality teams as requested.
  • Promotes rehabilitation services.
  • Assist front desk.
  • May include answering phones, scheduling, copying, filing, calling patients, outcomes management, and medical records functions as training security allows.
  • May assists with the orientation of new staff, students, and volunteers.
  • May ensures appropriate patient education information is supplied and orders as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
