The Rehabilitation Aide will be responsible for assisting therapist and therapy assistant teams in caring for their patients. Additional job duties include bathing and toileting patients, preparing treatment areas, cleaning and organizing equipment, maintaining needs of equipment orders and various duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to sit for up to thirty minutes at a time.
  • Be able to tolerate standing for thirty to forty-five minutes consecutively and be able to walk on level surfaces, stairs, carpeted surfaces, ramps for up to thirty minutes consecutively.
  • Must have the ability to lift/move patients up to 300 lbs., push/pull patients weighting up to 300 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to occasionally stoop/bend, crouch, kneel and reach above shoulder level.
  • Must be capable of tactile sensation as it relates to feeling for muscle spasms, textures and skin temperature.
  • Must have the ability to hear as it relates to normal conversation and ability to hear call bells.
  • Must be capable of seeing as it relates to general vision, depth perception and peripheral vision.
  • High School Diploma.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in the medical field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist therapist and assistant with treatment programs.
  • Provides assistance to patients for toileting and ADL care as needed.
  • Provides assistance with Speech Therapy and meals as scheduled.
  • Maintains department equipment including but not limited to hydrocollator, cold pack freezer, washer and dryer as well as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, etc.
  • Prepares treatment areas.
  • Maintains/stocks linens and supplies.
  • Assists the therapist in patient transport to and from the gym/speech therapy office.
  • Assist in billing audits.
  • Submit work orders for unit equipment/areas that need to be fixed.
  • Assist in maintaining temperature logs for certification requirements.
