About The Position

UW Health is seeking a Rehab Therapy Assistant to prepare patients, treatment areas, and equipment, carry out patient-related activities as directed by a therapist, schedule patients, complete charge procedures, and perform administrative tasks. The role also involves establishing appropriate interpersonal relationships and communications with patients, families, team members, students, interns, and other healthcare professionals, and participating in the educational and growth of the team. The position is 100% FTE, 40 hours/week, with 8-hour day shifts scheduled Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM - 6:30 PM, with hours potentially varying based on departmental operational needs. This role is part of UW Health, the #1 hospital in Wisconsin, located at East Madison Hospital, an advanced hospital and wellness center.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• CPR certification Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

• Prior healthcare experience Preferred
• 1 year healthcare experience Preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, treatment areas, and equipment in a manner that assures the patient’s dignity, personal care, and security.
• Carry out patient related activities, as directed by the patient’s therapist, such as, assist with a patient’s therapeutic exercises, therapeutic activities, and/or ambulation activities.
• Schedule patients, complete patient charge procedure for services performed, and complete administrative tasks as delegated by manager, supervisor, or therapist.
• Establish appropriate interpersonal relationships and communications with patients, families, other team members, students and interns, and other health care professionals.
• Participate in the educational and growth of the team.
