Job summary: The Rehab Aide works under the close supervision of a licensed physical therapist or occupational therapist and performs delegated, selected, or routine tasks, or treatments. The aide will assist the therapist in treating patients with injuries, illnesses or disabilities through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. They help these patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.
Requirements
- High school diploma (preferred)
- Knowledge of equipment and how to use it when assisting a patient in therapy
- Knowledge of proper lifting techniques when assisting patient or carrying heavy objects
- Ability to maintain a good interpersonal relationships with others and works effectively to solve problems and issues
- Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform a variety of clinical procedures relevant to practice area
- Ability to maintain quality, safety and infection control standards
- Ability to communicate with patients and staff effectively
- Eligible to Work in the US
Responsibilities
- Sets up patient for treatment as requested by therapist.
- Sets up patient treatment area with specific equipment, supplies and manipulative for each patient evaluation or follow up session.
- Secures patients into or onto therapy equipment.
- Safeguards, motivates and assists patients in practicing exercises and functional activities under direction of therapist.
- Responds to patients phone calls and performs other clerical duties as needed.
- Cleans and organizes treatment area and disinfects used equipment.
- Makes inventory lists and orders supplies.
- Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
- Checks crash cart daily and monthly to ensure appropriate supplies.
- Restocks after use as needed.
- Complies with applicable policies and procedures and supports the Compliance Program.
- Contributes to organizational operations by performing other duties as may be required.
