About The Position

Rehabilitation Services aide is defined as a non licensed person specifically trained under the direction of a physical therapist, physical therapy assistant, or occupational therapist to perform basic tasks related to the support of a rehabilitation service. Education High School Diploma or GED Experience No prior work experience required Licenses & Certifications Healthcare Provider (CPR) Qualifications Good communication skills are needed to communicate with patients, families, staff and physicians and to perform activities requiring ordinary courtesy and tact. Work requires general educational development and knowledge to perform tasks and to read/understand written treatment directives. BLS required within 30 days of hire Area of Responsibilities Assists therapist in non-clinical tasks and performs clerical duties as assigned. Assists therapists under direct supervision to monitor number of repetitions of patient exercises, providing support to patients getting on or off a machine, handing the patients weights, or alerting the therapist of a patient need. The aide provides no independent direct care to the patient. Maintains confidentiality Maintains equipment and patient care areas: dusting, cleaning, equipment, toys, keeping all areas organized including storage Maintains stock of supplies and cleans therapy equipment Assembles and disassembles equipment as needed Cleans mats and changes linen after each patient Keeps working environment safe, neat and clean Compliance Statement Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline. Received: Staff Physical Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant, or Occupational Therapist shall provide 100% on site supervision of the aide. ""On site supervision"" is defined as being in the same physical facility and the therapist shall be readily available at all times to provide instruction to the aide. A licensee can supervise a maximum of two aides. Effect Of Error Probable error usually detected in succeeding operations and generally confined to a single department or phase of organization activities. Practically all work is subject to verification or check. Occasional work with some confidential data where the effect of any disclosure would be negligible or where the full import is not apparent in the routines performed. Supervisory Responsibility Exercises no supervision, work direction, or instruction of other employees or students Mental Demands Simple repetitive duties using several well defined procedures under close supervision. Work calls for some variation, but within specific instructions and detailed checks of supervisor. Physical Effort Moderate physical effort - Lifts, carries, or handles lightweight (1 to 25 lbs.) materials or equipment for about half of the day. Very occasional physical effort with medium weight objects (25- 60 lbs.). Office or laboratory work requires close visual effort and concentration more than half of day. Works in reaching or strained positions for less than half of day. Working Conditions Minor - Occasionally involved in exposure to dirt, odors, noise, or some work is performed with exposure to temperature/weather extremes/occupational risk and probability of coming into contact with blood borne pathogens, other potentially infectious diseases, or biomedical/bio-hazardous materials. Lifting 25 to 60 lbs. Lifting over 60 lbs. Handling - seizing, holding, grasping Hazmat suit usage (PPE) Pushing/Pulling - up to 25 lbs. Pushing/Pulling - 25 to 60 lbs. Pushing/Pulling - over 60 lbs. Occasionally (at least once a month) Crawling Running - In response to an emergency Carrying Climbing Kneeling Squatting Tasting N95 Respirator usage (PPE)
