The Rehabilitation Nurse Technician (RNT) at Northwestern Medicine embodies the organization's mission, vision, and values, adhering to its Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complying with all relevant policies and standards. This role requires expertise in the specific needs of patients within a rehabilitation environment, particularly those with severe chronic conditions and complex disabilities. As a member of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation care team, the RNT supports interventions aimed at helping individuals and their families achieve independence and adjust to their health conditions, looking beyond the disability. The RNT provides services to both adults and children. Additional technical skills include de-escalation techniques and performing 12-lead EKGs. The RNT actively participates in unit quality projects, including data collection, equipment inventory, and maintenance, and is responsible for precepting new RNT employees.
