As a Director of Rehabilitation in a Grace Management Services facility you must be able to perform the following essential functions as demonstrated by the ability to: Essential Job Functions: Maintain a clinical caseload. Recruiting and retaining all rehabilitation service personnel. Ensure effective orientation and on-the-job training for all rehabilitation service personnel. Promote positive employee relations by facilitating an atmosphere of open communication and problem solving. Conduct performance appraisals of all rehabilitation service personnel. Responsible for all aspects of operations of rehabilitation services at the facility level. Monitor personnel compliance with standards taking corrective action when needed. Work with finance personnel in reconciling billing to ensure accuracy. Assure that all program standards are met, including CARF, SNF and JCAHO standards. Identify program development needs of the community and implements appropriate programs. Develop clinical affiliation programs with educational institutions. Investigate, follow up and assist in the resolution of staff, service and resident-related issues as requested by management. Review the quality and appropriateness of the total services delivered. Assess resources and supplies available in the community. Track MDS Assessment Period Data to include number of disciplines treating, treatment days/week and daily treatment time. Communicate data to appropriate community personnel. Review resident specific RUG category per assessment period. Coordinates change in MDS data according to community procedure. Utilize tracking systems and for implementing changes that may be indicated. Ensures compliance with data entry for PPS resource utilization and CPT coding daily. Monitors treatment minutes daily. Generate special reports/data as needed to assist the Regional Director of Rehabilitation in assessing the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the Rehabilitative Services for the facility. Provide treatment in accordance with established standards of practice, department procedures and productivity standards. Demonstrates sound judgment in the evaluation, planning, implementation and follow-up of resident therapy programs. Report to work on time and coordinates schedule to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency during assigned shift. Assist with and participates in Quality Assurance Program as required. Maintain a current knowledge of the law and regulations regarding rehabilitative services and consults with supervisor to ensure that all employment actions are in compliance with applicable regulations. Attend and participates in scheduled training, educational classes and meetings required or requested for position. Ensure a safe environment and utilizes tools and equipment in a safe manner complying with all infection control, universal precautions and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional. Report all hazardous conditions including incidents, injuries and equipment to Supervisor/appropriate personnel immediately. Respond to and acts appropriately in emergency or disaster situations. Adhere to high standards of cleanliness, grooming, hygiene and dress code. Adhere to all policies of company, including job description, certification requirements, mission statement, HIPAA, confidentiality standards and resident’s rights. Adapt to changes in responsibility in a positive manner, is receptive to new ways of completing tasks and in flexible in carrying out assignments. Communicate and interact professionally and effectively with residents and coworkers throughout the community ensuring a cooperative environment while maintaining self-control. Communicate and interact professionally and effectively with family members in attending to and meeting their requests.
