This position is a 1.0 FTE replacement for the 159 Wells Ave Rehab Office. The Rehab Department Coordinator provides administrative support to unit-based and hospital-wide clinicians and staff in an outpatient unit, functioning as the liaison between the patient, visitors and the clinicians. The role is expected to effectively organize priorities, complete tasks on time and to manage confidential patient information. The coordinator is responsible for partnering with rehab clinicians to coordinate the day-to-day patient flow including communication to key players regarding patient Evaluations, and follow-up appointments. This position also expects the coordinator to provide outstanding services for every customer interaction. This position does not require patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • administrative support experience
  • Proficiency with office procedures and equipment i.e. filing, copying, scanning, printing and faxing.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to proofread and edit written documents.
  • Ability to use phone system.
  • Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral skills.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred
  • Unit Coordinator Certification - National Association of Health Unit Coordinators, Inc. preferred
  • 2-3 years administrative support experience

Responsibilities

  • Performs clerical and other duties to assist in the general administration of the rehab unit.
  • Greets and interacts with patients, families, visitors and coworkers in person and via communication tools in a professional manner.
  • Receives, prioritizes, organizes and manages information at the front office, and throughout the department.
  • Effectively organize priorities, complete tasks on time and to manage confidential patient information.
  • Partner with rehab clinicians to coordinate the day-to-day patient flow including communication to key players regarding patient Evaluations, and follow-up appointments.
  • Provide outstanding services for every customer interaction.
