About The Position

As a department assistant with Amery Hospital Luck Fitness Center, you will perform clerical and reception duties to assist the Rehab Services department. In addition, you will also assist with departmental processes and patient care including scheduling, answering phones and welcoming patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year in office setting with medical background is preferred.
  • Demonstrated keyboarding skill and computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately admits patients to Rehab Services and coordinates outpatient forms, including verifying insurance requirements as needed.
  • Answers telephone in a pleasant manner and accurately takes messages.
  • Maintains accurate therapy schedule, efficiently and accurately scheduling therapy appointments, vacations, weekend coverage, department meetings.
  • Accurately records, types, and distributes all required meeting minutes, memos, correspondence, etc. for the department in a timely manner.
  • Accurately compiles and enters daily treatment charges for PT/OT/ST/IP/Industrial/Swing bed in a timely manner.
  • Compiles and enters daily and monthly accounting stats for patient care and forwards to accounting daily and monthly.
  • Keeps track of all PTO requests and sends payroll information as needed.
  • Mails out all PT/OT post treatment questionnaires and records results quarterly and summarizes annually per therapist.
  • Accurately files dictations, coded face sheets, orders, etc.
  • Obtains proper CPM usage for submitting monthly billing.
  • Accurately completes membership paperwork for Fitness Center members as needed.
  • Forwards, records, and disperses Medicare and Medicaid dictation for proper doctor signatures in a timely manner.
  • Immediately reports to Department Manager any defective or improperly operating equipment.
  • Prepares, maintains, stocks shelves in examination and treatment areas as needed.
  • Maintains accurate patient files and processes accurately for discharge.
  • Keeps and maintains office supplies as needed.
  • Demonstrates willingness to learn and accept change in applications to duties.
