Requirements

  • Education: High School/GED
  • Experience: 1-3 years in Medical Billing and Denial Management
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately read and understand explanations of benefits from insurance.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize EMR, Clearinghouses, and other billing software to verify patient information, file claims, review EOB’s, investigate denied claims, and submit reconsideration requests.
  • Process billing transactions for rehabilitation services, including but not limited to physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
  • Generate and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor claim status, investigate and resolve unpaid/denied claims.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and address issues with rejected claims.
  • Investigating Claims, identifying errors, appealing denials, and communicating with various parties to achieve resolution.
  • Collaborate with other departments and insurance companies to ensure accurate, timely billing reimbursement.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in healthcare billing regulations and coding guidelines.
  • Ability to answer phones, and assist patients with billing related questions and concerns.
  • The ability to quickly adapt to changes in tasks, and special projects.
