About The Position

The Rehab Aide supports the Therapy Department by assisting Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy staff in delivering high-quality rehabilitative services. This position helps maintain an organized, safe, and efficient therapy environment while promoting positive outcomes for residents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with Casamba or PointClickCare a plus
  • Ability to maintain resident confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to read and understand technical procedures and care instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with therapists, staff, residents, and families
  • Ability to apply basic math concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, and diagram-based instructions
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly (more with assistance or equipment)
  • Frequent use of hands, arms, and mobility equipment
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for resident care activities

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a rehabilitation, healthcare, or long-term care setting preferred
  • No therapy license required
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with Casamba or PointClickCare a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist therapists with patient treatments as directed and within scope
  • Transport residents to and from therapy sessions as needed
  • Prepare treatment areas, equipment, and supplies before and after sessions
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down therapy programs and activities
  • Communicate resident progress, concerns, or changes to supervising therapists
  • Assist with documentation support per department policy (non-clinical)
  • Participate in patient care conferences and in-service training as requested
  • Assist nursing staff with restorative aide training when directed
  • Educate residents and families on basic therapy routines and discharge support under therapist guidance
  • Report equipment issues promptly to ensure safe operation
  • Maintain professionalism and positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
