About The Position

The Rehab Aide position at Shriners Children's involves assisting Occupational and Physical Therapists in providing therapeutic activities for pediatric patients. Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 1 year experience in rehab/therapy preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists with set-up of equipment, patient transportation, and assists in patient treatment programs under the supervision of a therapist.
• Responsible for assisting therapists with non-direct patient care needs and tasks that will improve the patients' one-to-one treatment experience with their therapist.
• Ensures all equipment and supplies are organized, available and accessible in both treatment and storage areas.
• Maintains inventory of routinely used supplies/equipment and orders additional inventory as needed.
• Responsible for regularly cleaning treatment areas (including toys) and equipment; will appropriately document cleaning of the department equipment based on manufacturers guidelines and hospital policies and procedures.
• Greets patient, families, and visitors promptly, notifies therapist of patient's arrival.
• Must be willing to learn and complete basic maintenance and modification of equipment such as walkers, gait trainers, standers and wheelchairs.
