Under the general supervision of the Rehabilitation Manager and Sr. Director of Non-Diagnostic Ambulatory Services assists staff members in the delivery of rehabilitation services via clinical, secretarial, and/or housekeeping support within the guidelines established by the Board of Allied Health Professions in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Clinical duties performed under the specific direction of the registered therapists or assistants as assigned. The rehab aide is a vital member of the rehabilitation team, supporting both patient care and clinic operations. This role includes direct patient interaction—such as assisting patients with equipment use and helping maintain smooth clinic flow—while also being cross-trained in essential front desk responsibilities. Requirements
- Equivalent to completion of four years of high school required.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting, collaborating with peers to produce optimum results.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of a licensed Therapist and/or Therapist Assistant performs selected patient treatment activities.
- Assists therapists with transfers, ambulation, completion of exercises and hot and cold treatments.
- Completes clerical tasks to include but not limited to answering the phones, registering patients, scheduling patients for both initial and follow up appointments, collecting copayments, and completing insurance verification.
- Prepares, maintains, and cleans treatment areas, consistent with departmental protocols.
- Orders supplies and monitors inventory of supplies.
