Zayo serves wireless and wireline carriers, media, tech, content, finance, healthcare and other large enterprises. Zayo is seeking a Regulatory Telecom Tax Analyst to join our Tax Team. In this role, you will partner closely with the Tax Director and Regulatory Specialist to ensure the timely and accurate completion of all required regulatory filings. You will be responsible for collecting, validating, and analyzing the data necessary to meet monthly federal, state and local telecommunications reporting obligations. Our Regulatory Telecom Tax Analyst plays a key role in supporting the company’s regulatory strategy by preparing filings, analyzing data, and researching new and existing rules. You will collaborate regularly with other regulatory specialists across the organization. We're open to this position working remotely within the United States. Please note that if you live within 55 miles of our Denver, CO headquarters, (1401 Wynkoop St) we do ask that you work in a hybrid capacity.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Two (2) - four (4) years of experience in regulatory or tax compliance, preferably within telecommunications or a related industry.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of telecommunications regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced, detail‑oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in telecommunications, tax or regulatory reporting.
  • Proficiency with data analytics tools (Excel, Access, Alteryx).
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion is a plus) and tax software (Avalara is a plus).
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance Prepare and submit regulatory filings, certifications, and payments with accuracy and consistency.
  • Respond to complex data requests and develop detailed compliance reports at the jurisdictional level.
  • Assist in monitoring and interpreting telecommunications regulations and reporting requirements from agencies such as the FCC, state public utility commissions, and other governing authorities.
  • Analysis & Reporting Apply accounting concepts to collect, validate, and analyze financial and operational data for regulatory reporting.
  • Support internal audits and maintain audit‑ready documentation for regulatory examinations and inquiries.
  • Process Improvement Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance regulatory reporting processes.
  • Help identify data discrepancies, gaps, and risks and support corrective action efforts.
  • Assist with implementing and testing systems and tools used for automated compliance tracking.
