AIS is looking for a Regulatory Support Engineer to work in Oak Ridge, TN. The Regulatory Support Engineer provides direct technical, analytical, and coordination support to the Regulatory Affairs Lead within ORNL’s HFIR Updates and Neutron Upgrades Projects. This position plays a critical role in supporting regulatory compliance activities, safety basis documentation development, environmental compliance coordination, and regulatory engagement preparation for one of the nation’s most important nuclear research facilities. Working under the direction of the Regulatory Support Lead, this role interfaces with nuclear safety staff, engineers, environmental specialists, and project stakeholders to ensure regulatory requirements are clearly interpreted, documented, tracked, and implemented. The Specialist contributes to maintaining compliance with DOE, NRC, and applicable state and federal regulations while supporting ORNL’s strong nuclear safety culture.
