About The Position

The Regulatory Specialist helps ensure compliance with state, federal, and international regulations governing human and animal dietary supplement products. This includes maintaining regulatory standards around product safety, labeling, claims, packaging, documentation, and submissions.

Requirements

  • Strong organization skills, flexibility, and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory information, formulas, specification sheets, and government guidelines.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
  • Ability to represent regulatory interests collaboratively across teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and Regulatory experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience proofreading or reviewing detailed documents preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, assess, and submit product and facility registrations, licensure applications, documentation requests, and other regulatory submissions.
  • Respond to inquiries from customers, internal departments, and regulatory officials or agencies.
  • Provide regulatory input during new product development in a cross-functional environment.
  • Ensure labeling, literature, claims, and marketing materials comply with relevant regulatory requirements and FoodScience policies.
  • Monitor and implement regulatory-driven revisions or updates to maintain compliance.
  • Support domestic and international compliance programs including trademarks, Proposition 65, private label, USDA APHIS, Veterinary Health Program, and Health Canada.
  • Participate in industry groups to stay aligned with best practices, standards, and policy changes.
  • Support ongoing company efforts related to regulatory landscape changes, including training and implementation.
  • Assist with project-based work such as testing coordination, vendor requests, audit preparation, and documentation updates.
  • Maintain databases including NASC NAERS and the CRN Supplement OWL.
  • Provide support to the Regulatory Manager and VP of Quality & Regulatory as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
