About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Regulatory Supervisor and Senior Management Analyst Supervisor (SMA) in directing and coordinating with staff the activities pertaining to the approval and issuance of pharmacy permits in the State of Florida (Chapter 465, F.S.). Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the statutes, rules and policies related to pharmacy permitting. Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions. Handles the more complex pharmacy permit applications. Evaluates qualifications and criteria for permitting in accordance with statutory and rule requirements. Requests and obtains supplementary information as required from the applicant to determine eligibility for permitting. Provides recommendations to the SMA and Supervisor on special licensure issues and regarding those applicants whose credentials warrant a personal appearance before the Board. Uses MQA database reports to monitor workflow and achieve strategic goals set by MQA and the department. This position is responsible for making initial assignments to team members and performing second reviews for the purpose of making final determinations on eligibility for pharmacy permitting. Handles the more complex communications from applicants and others regarding the permitting process. Prepares correspondence to and communicates verbally and in writing with applicants, educators, general community, other state and federal regulatory agencies, societies, licensees, etc., regarding the licensure requirements and credentialing process. Prepares any required reports for the Board. Provides training to new employees on reviewing and processing applications and related documents. Performs other duties as assigned.
