REGULATORY SPECIALIST II FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER SERVICES DIVISION OF AGRICULTURAL ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES STATE PERSONNEL SYSTEM OPPORTUNITY--ONLY CURRENT STATE PERSONNEL SYSTEMEMPLOYEES WILL BE CONSIDERED. CONTACT: Hailey Peters, 850-617-7849 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma or its equivalent and five (5) years of professional or nonprofessional experience in administrative work, regulatory work, consumer complaint program work, interviewing, business administration, customer or public relations, or investigations can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education; or An equivalent combination of education and experience which equals five (5) years can substitute for the above requirements; or A bachelor’s degree (4 years) from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of the required experience as listed above. Requirements

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience which equals five (5) years can substitute for the above requirements; or
  • A bachelor’s degree (4 years) from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of the required experience as listed above.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
  • Ability to use personal computers.

Responsibilities

  • Review documents for certified operator, identification card holder, limited certificate, public health, commercial applicator, and private applicator, and public applicator applications to determine eligibility and compliance with Chapter 388, 482, and 487 F.S., and Rules 5E-9, 5E-13, and 5E-14, F.A.C. for certification or registration.
  • Evaluate applications to determine appropriate action, including: analyzing documents received to determine compliance with state laws and rules; verifying fee payments; reviewing certificate of insurance documents to determine compliance of statute and rule; communicating any deficiencies in applications via email or mail; reviewing and processing documents received as a result of a deficiency letter response in a timely manner; issuing licenses, certificates, registrations, permits, and/or limited certificates when all requirements are met; sending appropriate documentation when an application has been denied because deficiencies were never addressed within the time frames prescribed by law and providing notice of rights with the denial letter; following up on actions necessary in response to an enforcement case; refer applications and other documents to other personnel, sections or agencies when necessary.
  • Perform these activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and information to applicants, other government agencies, and consumers through verbal and/or written correspondence.
  • Document all contacts and communications by entering clear and concise notes into database(s).
  • Provide reports as required on activities.
  • Review standard operating procedures and update as necessary.
  • The position is required to assist co-workers and other sections within the division and perform related work and tasks as requested by division management.
