About The Position

The Regulatory Horizon Scanning role at NatWest Markets involves tracking regulatory changes and ensuring compliance across relevant teams. The position requires collaboration with Legal and Compliance teams globally to address regulatory gaps and implement necessary changes to policies and procedures. The role also includes monitoring industry developments, participating in working groups, and assisting with training coordination.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and global regulatory trends relevant to derivatives, specifically CFTC/NFA swap dealer rules and SEC/FINRA rules.
  • Experience in monitoring and reviewing regulatory changes, writing and implementing policies and procedures, and remediating regulatory gaps.
  • Ability to analyze regulations and determine their impact on the firm.
  • Collaborative and persuasive communication skills with internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
  • Bachelor's degree required; JD preferred.
  • 3-5 years of financial industry experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Project management experience in regulatory compliance.
  • Understanding of rules and regulations pertaining to the futures markets.

Responsibilities

  • Track changes to regulation and new regulations, ensuring they are embedded across relevant teams.
  • Ensure compliance of NatWest Markets' policies and procedures with relevant regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance colleagues globally to remediate gaps and deficiencies in existing policies and procedures.
  • Document and implement processes to adhere to new regulations in collaboration with change teams and the business.
  • Monitor and communicate U.S. industry developments impacting NatWest Markets globally.
  • Participate in internal and external working groups, committees, and forums, providing regulatory updates.
  • Assist with the coordination and delivery of required training.
  • Participate in ad-hoc special projects and initiatives as needed.
