About The Position
Counsel is responsible for providing legal and regulatory advice related to state insurance laws and regulations applicable to the Cigna Group’s commercial health care lines of business. This role will work on a team of legal, regulatory, and compliance professionals responsible for the intake and assessment of new and existing laws and regulations as well as the documentation and monitoring of implementation related to the laws for specific regions. Additionally, this role may support market conduct examinations and other regulatory inquiries or exams. The successful candidate must have a strong command of general legal principles and health insurance regulatory expertise. The successful candidate must be able to identify legal risks and present solutions. Strong research skills including identification of relevant laws and regulations, adaptability, and knowledge of the regulatory environment affecting health insurance business is required. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required as the successful candidate will represent company directly with regulators, business partners, and senior level division management.
