About The Position

The Regulatory Compliance Analyst is responsible for assisting with matters related to enterprise compliance, ensuring that policies, forms, procedures, and filings comply with all federal and state codes, regulations, and rules, and coordinating regulatory compliance-related forms and procedures for all subsidiaries of United Heritage Financial Group (“UHFG”) to ensure consistency of forms and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate is strongly preferred. Relevant regulatory compliance experience may be considered in lieu of a paralegal certificate.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Proficiency with legal research software (Westlaw and/or Lexis/Nexis,) Word, Excel, Power Point and internet-based applications. Ability to learn company specific software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion.
  • Professional, cooperative demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with regulatory compliance matters affecting UHFG, its parent company, and its subsidiaries.
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on insurance regulatory requirements, compliance obligations, and regulatory developments.
  • Monitor, research, review, and analyze existing and newly enacted laws and regulations. Draft or implement required policies, procedures, and forms to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare, submit, and manage accurate and timely product, policy form, and rate filings with state insurance departments.
  • Oversee and coordinate the drafting, filing, tracking, and approval process for regulatory filings, including responding to regulator inquiries and objections.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of regulatory filings, approvals, and correspondence.
  • Notify appropriate stakeholders of regulatory approvals, changes, and implementation requirements. Distribute updated or newly approved forms.
  • Assist the Company’s Anti-Fraud Coordinator and provide assistance to the General Counsel in all matters related to fraud reporting and training. Prepare and file required annual fraud reports with appropriate state insurance departments.
  • Assist with insurance complaint investigations and regulatory responses. Maintain and update complaint logs in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist the General Counsel with Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”)compliance procedures for all UHFG subsidiaries.
  • Serve as a liaison between Legal/Compliance and external auditors, regulators, and market conduct examiners.
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research as requested.
  • Prepare, review, and file statutory, regulatory, and compliance-related reports as required by law.
  • Create and maintain legal files and folders, including but not limited to research files, compliance files, and litigation files.
  • Track and maintain corporate contracts with third-party service and product providers for all UHFG subsidiaries.
  • Prepare and submit required filings and reports to state and other regulatory agencies.
  • Provide general administrative support to the General Counsel, including formatting and proofreading correspondence, processing mail, coordinating filing payments, and tracking filing-related expenses.
  • Create stock certificates and maintain stock registers for all United Heritage companies.
  • Track assigned Agents for Service of Process for all United Heritage companies.
  • Assist team members when workload requires.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
