About The Position

The Regulatory Affairs Specialist at ITW Pro Brands is responsible for providing comprehensive product regulatory support, ensuring compliance with hazard communication requirements across various regions including the US, Canada, and the EU. This role involves authoring Safety Data Sheets (SDS), developing product labels, classifying products for transportation, and managing compliance processes. The specialist will also provide consultative support to both internal and external customers, participate in industry activities, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field.
  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance supporting the chemical industry.
  • Experience with EPA FIFRA registrations is a plus.
  • Credentialed SDS author (e.g. AIHA's Safety Data Sheet Registered Professional).
  • Knowledge of trade compliance (e.g. NAFTA).
  • Experience utilizing and maintaining SDS authoring systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience working with Chemwatch.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of US, Canadian, and EU hazard communication requirements.
  • Maintain the SDS authoring system, coordinating with IT when necessary.
  • Classify products to determine SDS and labeling requirements in the US, Canada, and EU.
  • Review and approve product labeling for compliance with applicable regulations; analyze and recommend changes.
  • Provide internal and external customer support related to hazard communication and product compliance.
  • Participate in workflow and system development projects to maintain compliance with hazard communication requirements.
  • Classify products for transportation and communicate associated packaging and labeling requirements.
  • Issue NAFTA and COO certificates.
  • Participate in trade and other industry and government association activities as assigned.
  • Maintain current qualifications, education and training (e.g. DOT / IATA / IMDG certification).
  • Conduct periodical training for other Regulatory Affairs staff.
  • Utilize the company's operating business philosophies to their fullest extent.
  • Establish and maintain good communication and working relations with company staff and leadership.
