Requirements

  • B.S. degree in a scientific discipline including Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology, Ecotoxicology or microbiology required - Advanced degree preferred but not mandatory
  • Direct responsibility for submissions to EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and/or PMRA (Pest Management Regulatory Agency) experience is mandatory
  • 8+ years of direct experience with Crop and Non-crop registrations
  • Significant understanding of industry regulatory issues and experience in registration and reregistration activities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with others in a team environment and for negotiation with regulatory authorities are a necessity
  • Established relationships within the government agencies a plus
  • Previous experience in areas such as Biological products, Maximum Residue Levels (MRL's), Adverse reporting or facilitating audits and implementation of FIFRA (Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act) training across diverse groups desired

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned registration portfolios for crop and non-crop products registered with EPA and PMRA
  • Interact with global colleagues to develop strategies on common registration topics impacting chemistries
  • Work directly with Federal and State regulatory agency contacts as the company's primary regulatory contact including leading face-to-face & virtual meetings
  • Liaise with internal colleagues to obtain required documents to generate submissions and support registration and reregistration which includes toxicology, eco-toxicology, environmental fate, chemistry, field development, marketing and sales teams
  • Craft Regulatory strategy and communicate the risks to management
  • Review and provide approval of all collateral labeling associated with assigned product portfolio (advertising/Website)
  • Engage with cross functional teams including manufacturing, technology, procurement daily to ensure American Vanguard products are in good standing to ensure compliance
  • Participate as an active member of Industry regulatory or scientific committees and network with Industry peers
