Our Regulatory Affairs Manager, Food and Beverage for North America leads essential US/North America regulatory tasks to support compliant growth, customer needs, and innovation with limited supervision. It reports directly to the Head of Regulatory Affairs Americas.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering, Food Science, Pharmacy, Nutrition, Chemistry, Biology, or related Natural Sciences.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in Regulatory Affairs within the food industry, with demonstrated ownership of US/North America regulatory deliverables (e.g., ingredients, claims, dossiers/notifications as applicable).
  • Language requirements and proficiency level: Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Cross cultural awareness and experience working in a global environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on Regulatory Affairs experience in the food industry , preferably with food ingredients (e.g., enzymes, cultures, probiotics, flavors, processing aids) and/or finished foods in US/North America markets.
  • In depth knowledge of regulatory environment and how it affects food ingredients and the company’s process and products.
  • Strong understanding of ingredient compliance
  • Practical experience with US/North America regulatory pathways (e.g., GRAS determinations
  • Clear, concise communicator who can translate complex regulations into practical business guidance.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills; trusted advisor mindset with customer focus.
  • Solution-oriented and pragmatic, balancing compliance, risk, and business needs under time pressure.
  • High attention to detail and documentation discipline; consistent, accurate, and audit-ready outputs.
  • Resilient and persistent when working with authorities and in evolving regulatory environments; comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Abilities in Spanish is desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as US/North America regulatory subject matter expert for relevant food ingredient/food segments; monitor, interpret, and proactively communicate regulatory changes and business impact.
  • Provide timely, accurate regulatory guidance and responses to internal stakeholders and customers regarding product/ingredient regulatory status, specifications, labeling/claims (as applicable), and manufacturing/process considerations.
  • Lead and/or coordinate preparation of regulatory dossiers and submissions for US/North America (e.g., FDA food ingredient pathways and other required filings as applicable) in collaboration with Global Regulatory Affairs and local resources.
  • Support innovation and change management (new products, line extensions, and process changes) by defining compliant pathways, performing regulatory risk assessments, and ensuring regulatory deliverables are met for launches.
  • Engage with government authorities and relevant industry/trade associations (e.g., FDA/USDA as applicable) to support compliance and advocacy; contribute to continuous improvement of regulatory processes, tools, and internal training.
