About The Position

The Registration Specialist is responsible for the accurate and efficient registration of patients, ensuring that all necessary demographic and insurance data is gathered and recorded in the computer system. This role involves collecting co-pays, deductibles, and deposits, as well as setting up payment plans, all while maintaining a welcoming environment for patients and their families.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
  • 1 Year Medical Insurance Knowledge (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient demographics, insurance, and other vital statistical information for insurance claims submission.
  • Collect information required by government and health systems for analysis.
  • Scan required documentation to support insurance and healthcare claim processing.
  • Create and maintain a welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Assume responsibility for patient satisfaction regarding instructions, wait times, and the registration process.
  • Promptly answer telephones, voicemails, and emails.
  • Timely and accurately review, manage, and complete required edits to patient registration via the AuditLogix system.
  • Challenge inappropriate registration errors flagged in AuditLogix.
  • Recognize patients who are waiting and keep them informed of wait times.
  • Confirm co-payment, deductible, or deposit amounts from cards/software.
  • Inform patients about payment options, financial counseling, and financial assistance.
