About The Position
The Registration Representative is responsible for processing registrations and pre-registrations in all hospital reception areas and offsite locations. This role involves answering patient inquiries regarding scheduled procedures and related charges, ensuring a smooth and efficient registration process. The representative must possess a high school diploma or GED, with a strong preference for candidates who have a working knowledge of medical terminology and customer service experience. The ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish is highly desirable, as is the willingness to be cross-trained in other areas of the facility. Organizational skills, good written and verbal communication abilities, and the capacity to interpret patient needs through non-verbal cues are essential for success in this position. In addition to registration duties, the representative will be responsible for obtaining and verifying patient demographic and financial information, ensuring compliance with HIPAA policies, and effectively communicating with various departments and personnel. The role requires a high degree of competency in using computer systems for eligibility verification and managing patient accounts. The representative will also handle financial transactions, including collecting co-pays and deductibles, and will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and logs of patient interactions and transactions.
