About The Position

The Registration Representative I at Jay Hospital is responsible for performing various data entry and registration functions for outpatient departments. This role focuses on accurately collecting patient demographic and insurance data to ensure proper reimbursement and claim filing. The representative will utilize technology to quote and collect patient liabilities, follow registration policies, and enhance the hospital experience for patients and visitors through excellent service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a clerical or administrative role preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the initial greeter for all patients/visitors entering the facility.
• Completes all registrations in a professional, accurate and customer-oriented timely manner.
• Obtains information from patient health insurance or managed care identification card.
• Responsible for distributing to patients or their representative any required handouts.
• Maintains forms in all printers at all times, which may require lifting or carrying cases of forms.
• Must have knowledge of all software and hardware computerized equipment.
