About The Position

The Registration Rep Specialist is responsible for assisting the patient through the pre-registration process to ensure outpatient procedures are screened based on assigned payors, missing or incomplete information is obtained, and insurance eligibility is verified while assisting the patient obtain pre-certifications, referrals, and authorization for patient visits.

Requirements

• a minimum of three (3) years of experience in health care and/or customer service related industry
• an Associate degree, or relevant experience in a healthcare setting can be considered in lieu of the required degree on a year for year basis
• Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification (must be obtained within one (1) year of hire date into position)

• demonstrated knowledge of ICD-10 coding and CPT coding
• demonstrated knowledge of Medicare guidelines and Medical Necessity

• demonstrated experience using a PC and some analytical software
• demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• ability to work in a fast pace environment of a physician office
