About The Position

This is a Per Diem/unbenefited position for a 24 hour department. Hours are varied - day, evening or night shifts depending on the need. Hours could be scheduled to fill vacation requests/leave of absence/an open shift or last minute to cover a sick call. Responsible for registering patients and updating information in the patient’s electronic medical record. Perform a variety of administrative tasks to ensure that patient demographic, financial and mandated information is accurate based on available information, while providing patients and/or family members with required regulatory informational documents regarding their visit or admission. Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent guest relations and telephone demeanor
  • Ability to professional handle all interactions within a fast paced, hectic and emotionally charged clinical environment.
  • Ability to think critically in making decisions to ensure urgent or emergent situations are handled correctly within hospital policies and procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas.
  • Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or other individuals in the workplace, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two years of computer experience
  • Minimum one to two years of experience in an acute hospital setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
