About The Position

The Registration Coordinator provides excellent customer service, managing the reception and registration of patients at the front desk, collecting patient payments, facilitating a calm and safe environment, promoting positive patient and visitor experience, scheduling patients for appointments, and processing patient health information.

Responsibilities

  • Promptly answers telephone calls and greets patients in a courteous, efficient manner.
  • Routes calls and messages to appropriate employee or department.
  • Documents patient information in appropriate clinical and business applications with accuracy.
  • Collects patient payments; ensures accurate cash counts, credit card transactions, patient receipts, and documentation on deposit slips and payment logs.
  • Collaborates effectively with team members to coordinate patient care activities.
  • Promotes the safety of facility occupants, adhering to visitor registration procedure, performing routine disinfection procedure of high-contact surfaces, and promptly reporting incidents and unsafe conditions.
  • Facilitates the comfort of lobby occupants, fostering a calm environment and ensuring availability of beverages, snacks, and appropriate reading materials.
  • Schedules and reschedules patient appointments as ordered or requested by the provider.
  • Contacts patients to remind, confirm, and reschedule upcoming appointments.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service, responding promptly to patient and team member requests.
  • Promotes positive patient experience, encouraging patients and involved caregivers to participate in patient satisfaction surveys.
  • Exercises problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when handling patient complaints; refers patient complaints to appropriate designated personnel as needed.
  • Opens and distributes mail if necessary.
  • Functions as a preceptor to newly hired staff.
  • Adheres to all Tennessee Oncology policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
