About the position
The Registration Coordinator I Float is responsible for greeting and checking in patients at the clinic, collecting and verifying patient information, and entering data into the electronic health record system, EPIC. This role requires excellent customer service skills, multitasking abilities, and adherence to HIPAA regulations. As a float position, the coordinator will primarily work at a home base clinic but may be required to cover other clinics in Knox and surrounding counties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients/clients as they arrive at the clinic.
- Collect and verify patient/client information.
- Enter patient/client data accurately into the electronic health record system, EPIC.
- Answer phone calls and assist callers with inquiries.
- Schedule appointments and maintain patient/client confidentiality.
- Notify providers of patient arrivals and inform them of delays.
- Comfort patients by anticipating their anxieties and answering questions.
- Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and billing information.
- Collect and record patient payments.
- Maintain office supplies and equipment by anticipating needs and placing orders.
- Follow policies and procedures to maintain operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of software applications and administrative and clerical procedures.
- Proficient in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and other language skills.
- Proficient in keyboarding, data entry, and business writing.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in customer service or healthcare settings.
- Ability to handle emergencies and assist patients in distress.
