The Registration Clerk communicates in a 'customer oriented' professional manner to assist patients, visitors, associates, and other customers. The role involves performing all duties utilizing the best possible customer service, operating the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls, and performing various hospital communications and clerical duties. The clerk acts as the hospital receptionist as needed. Additionally, the clerk arranges for the efficient and orderly registration of emergency patients, inpatients, and outpatients after hours, on weekends, and holidays. It is essential to ensure that accurate patient information is collected and that patients are aware of appropriate hospital policies and procedures. The clerk is expected to foster an attitude of teamwork in all areas of admitting and registration.
