About The Position

The Registration Attendant is ideally a customer-service-oriented, organized individual with skill in working in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to maintain a pleasant, friendly demeanor in a range of customer service interactions and employ a problem-solving mindset to meet guest needs. The Registration Attendant supports the registration of guests into programs across all Chautauqua Pillars. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, learning and utilizing multiple registration software systems to book watercraft rentals, recreation lessons (sailing, swimming, racquet sports), boat rides, chair rentals, and visual and performing and education classes/programs. This includes enrollments, transfers, and cancellations. Assists with mini golf transactions. Assists waterfront staff in managing vessel inventory for daily rentals. Prints and provides program rosters to instructors and boat captains and maintains rental documentation such as waivers and sailing tests. The attendant works closely with the Registration Coordinator on utilizing registration systems and customer care. The attendant also coordinates with staff across pillars to support their operations with registrations, transfers, cancellations, and customer care. Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • Ability to clearly and kindly communicate with customers and other employees verbally and in writing
  • Ability to solve problems in uncertain circumstances
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and move quickly between a variety of different tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Guest service experience preferred
  • Administrative an data entry experience in a retail-type environment is preferred
  • Experience with databases and enroll mentor scheduling software a plus

Responsibilities

  • Uphold Lakeside’s Mission Statement and personally represent its goals and values at all times while on the Lakeside grounds.
  • Provide general Lakeside information to guests and forward questions and concerns to proper departments.
  • Be knowledgeable of the events, programs, and the history and mission of Lakeside.
  • Learn how to use both the front end (customer facing) and back end (administrative) capabilities of registration software to: Facilitate registrations and payments
  • Problem solve customer registration and payment issues
  • Create and distribute rosters and other reports to Lakeside staff on demand and/or according to set schedules
  • Process class/event transfers, cancellations, and refunds
  • Identify and resolve possible enrollment errors or issues
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively with both customers and Lakeside staff
  • Read and respond to customer emails multiple times a day.
  • Process cash and credit transactions.
  • Be able to develop, edit and maintain rental center procedures as needed.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Waterfront Supervisor and sailing staff regarding rentals, customers’ special needs, schedules, and any program related issues.
  • Manage documentation and transactions as they relate to chair rentals.
  • Handle reservations and transactions for several water front activities, including, but not limited to :rentals for Sunfish sailboats, kayaks and standup paddleboards, registration for wooden boat cruises, sign up for sailing lessons, sign up for pond boat building class, etc.
  • Assist mini golf attendant with sales, equipment distribution and equipment returns.
  • Update and manage “Downtime Duties” checklist
  • Other duties as assigned by Registration Coordinator and Director of Recreation.
