About The Position

Interviews patients to obtain accurate and complete patient demographic and insurance information in order to complete the admission and registration of all patients Communicates with self-pay patients about charges and assists patient with payment arrangements Collects appropriate forms as required by Medicare, Medicaid insurance companies and/or other agencies

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent is required
• Six (6) months experience in a hospital/physician setting, obtaining insurance benefits and pre-certification is preferred
• Prior collection experience is preferred.
• Billing experience and contract knowledge is preferred
• One year of experience in a similar occupation and basic medical terminology and ICD 9 coding experience is preferred
