About The Position

The Registrar at HCA HealthONE Swedish plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate patient registration and information management. This position involves interviewing patients, verifying insurance details, and processing patient charts to facilitate smooth clinical visits. The Registrar is responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate / GED
  • 6 months experience in a medical setting preferred
  • Solid communication skills required
  • Medical terminology preferred

Responsibilities

  • Interview patients at workstation or at bedside to obtain necessary account information.
  • Ensure charts are completed and accurate for each clinical visit.
  • Verify all insurance and obtain pre-certification/authorization as needed.
  • Calculate and collect patient liable amounts and ensure necessary signatures are obtained.
  • Process patient charts according to paperwork flow needs and established productivity standards.
  • Welcome patients and family members in a professional manner.
  • Contact nursing staff for emergency medical needs and answer patient and visitor questions.
  • Assign I-plans accurately and research Patient Visit History to comply with Medicare regulations.
  • Notify Medical Records for any duplicate unit numbers and verify insurance benefits.
  • Enter all information and authorization numbers into the registration system.
  • Secure all necessary signatures for treatments and release of medical information.
  • Collect co-pays, deposits, and deductibles, documenting collection status in the system.
  • Prepare daily deposits and maintain the integrity of the cash drawer.
  • Schedule new patients and follow up visits, managing clinic flow and phone lines.
